Lehi’s Dream, Bronze Relief © James F Slowik, 2003
Price: $250.00 Plus Shipping
A finalist in the Seventh (2006) International Art Museum contest of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This bas-relief is a combination of ceramic tile, marble, and bronze resins. It represents the first sightings of the "tree" by Lehi. The sculpture is on the diagonal representing the points of the compass demonstrating that this vision is for all the world. The circle with Lehi's words (1 Nephi 8:10) represents the eternal promise given by the vision. The tree has a corded, thick trunk representing unity and strength. The roots turn up into the tree for self-sustaining nourishment. The white marble fruit represents the pure love of God through the sacrifice of His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. [Dimensions: 17 in x 17 in, 17# (ready for wall mounting)].
